the Thai  Massage

The Traditional Thai massage has very ancient origins which date back to 2500 years ago and its use has been handed on orally since then.
It has very obvious ayurvedic origins and some positions are so similar to those of hatha yoga that some western masseurs call it “yoga massage”.
The energetic flow is freed by the manipulations made on the meridians and by the stretching exercises. With the help of a Thai masseur you can obtain yoga positions usually impossible to get. The compressions activate again the venous circuit and the lymphatic system. The connective tissue becomes more flexible and the stagnating liquids are drained. The muscles lose their contractions so that the body posture and the joint movements are improved. The muscle stretching is beneficial for the working of the tendons in joints, thus favouring the calcium assimilation.
The Thai massage principles are extremely simple and its aim is to help the body become its own healer.
There are no sofisticated alchemies or complicated theories. The joints put in traction maintain their elasticity and the bones their ability to assimilate calcium. Muscles and tendons stretch increasing their flexibility. The increased blood flowing stabilizes the gland activity.
The meridians can be often found near venous or nervous canals. When the meridians are massaged these canals are treated as well. The pressures help the venous return and the lymphatic drainage thus obtaining a smoother skin and decrease of liquid stagnating and cellulitis.
The Thai massage is very useful before and after the physical exercise.
Before the exercise you help the body with the yoga positions, your muscles relax and the joints are freed; after the exercise it melts muscle tensions and removes waste substances.
Also useful for those who do not love sport, because the yoga positions allow the body to be moved while remaining totally passive and doing no effort at all. Joints become flexible, muscles firmer and elastic, pains due to wrong postures can be eliminated thanks to the yoga positions.
The deep lymphatic drainage works very well against edemas. The different tissues are better nourished and a good water balance is obtained. The normal skin becomes pink again, the dry one is again tonic and moisturized, and cellulitis is finally defeated.
